Spring Repairs and Maintenance
Posted on Apr 25th, 2024
Common area maintenance, repairs, and improvements are a continuous need in order to preserve home values and improve the quality of life in Misty Glen. The property management company and volunteer board routinely inspects the condition of both the homes and common areas to ensure our community remains as close to vibrant as it was when the builders completed the community.
The HOA is actively soliciting vendors for proposals to provide vital maintenance services to our community begining with trimming of the palm trees at the north and south end islands, oak tree overgrowth near the entrance, and various other locations in common areas enjoyed by homeowners and residents.
Much like the paint condition of the homes in the community, our front monument entryway signs are in need of refurbishment. Entryway signage is often overlooked by its residents, but upon close inspection the need to restore our monuments has been determined. We are currently reviewing proposals to have the signs restored including sanding, repairs, resealing, and repainting of our wood cut signs. This maintenance project and small investment will refresh the look of our entryway and extend the useful life of this community feature for years to follow.
Finally, due to what appears to be a combination of vandalism and prior overgrowth of trees in our playground, the black boundary chain link fencing that surrounds the playground has been damaged and will subsequently be repaired. The future of our community's primary amenity - the playground structure - will also require extensive discussions and collaboration with homeowners to establish a new vision for this space as the structure ages.
We continue to invite homeowners to participate in active discussions on our Facebook page as well as attend HOA meetings to voice any concerns, raise awareness to maintenance issues, or contribue ideas to help form a vision for the future. We believe Misty Glen is the best small neighborhood in all of Brandon and will continue to work towards making this an amazing place to call home.
